Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 16 April 2026

Challenge Surveillance Solutions is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is a fundamental part of how we approach the web, not an afterthought, and we work to continuously improve the experience for all visitors.

1. Standard We Follow

This website is designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility.

WCAG 2.1 AA is also the standard referenced by Canadian accessibility legislation including the Accessible Canada Act, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and equivalent provincial statutes in Manitoba, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, and others.

2. What We've Done

Accessibility measures we have implemented on this website include:

  • Semantic HTML — content is structured with meaningful headings, lists, and landmarks so that screen readers can navigate pages effectively
  • Keyboard navigation — every interactive element (links, buttons, form controls, menus) can be reached and operated using only a keyboard
  • Skip-to-content link — a skip link at the top of every page allows keyboard and screen-reader users to bypass the navigation and jump directly to the main content
  • Visible focus indicators — all interactive elements show a clear gold focus ring when navigated via keyboard, so visual keyboard users always know where they are
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are marked so that assistive technologies can skip them
  • Form labels and error messages — every form input has a properly associated label, and validation messages are announced to assistive technologies
  • Color contrast — text and interactive elements meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for regular text and 3:1 for large text
  • Responsive design — the site adapts to a wide range of screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels, supporting users who need to enlarge text or work on small screens
  • Readable typography — we use typefaces and font sizes chosen for legibility, and avoid text inside images
  • No time-based content — the site does not include auto-playing audio or video, flashing content, or time-limited interactions

3. Compatibility With Assistive Technology

This website is designed to be compatible with recent versions of:

  • Major screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
  • Major web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
  • Operating-system accessibility features: screen magnification, high-contrast themes, voice control
  • Keyboard-only input and switch-access input

If you use a specific piece of assistive technology and encounter a barrier, please let us know (see Section 6) and we will investigate.

4. Known Limitations

Although we work to make the website as accessible as possible, we are aware of areas where the experience may not be fully accessible to every user:

  • Third-party bot protection. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse. Turnstile is designed to be accessible, but its behaviour is outside our direct control. If you encounter difficulty completing the bot-verification step, please contact us by email instead (see Section 6).
  • Descriptive image alternatives. Our imagery includes detailed operational environments. Our alternative text captures the purpose and key subject of each image, but may not describe every visual detail. If you need a more complete description of a specific image, we are happy to provide one on request.

If you encounter any barrier not listed here, please report it (see Section 6). Reports from users are one of the most important ways we find and fix problems.

5. Alternative Formats

If you need content from this website in an alternative format — large print, plain text, a document format compatible with your assistive technology, or a verbal walk-through — contact us and we will provide it at no cost.

6. Reporting Accessibility Barriers

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know:

When reporting a barrier, please include where possible:

  • The page where you encountered the barrier (URL, if available)
  • A description of the barrier
  • The browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using

We aim to respond to accessibility reports within 10 business days and to fix genuine barriers as quickly as we reasonably can.

7. Ongoing Commitment

Digital accessibility is not a one-time project. We commit to:

  • Reviewing this website against WCAG 2.1 AA at least annually
  • Including accessibility in our design and development practice for all future changes
  • Incorporating feedback from users of assistive technology into our improvements
  • Updating this statement when our practices or known limitations change

8. Secure Platform

This statement applies to our public website. Our secure operational platform, accessed via the Login button, has its own accessibility posture and documentation, provided to customer organizations during onboarding.
